Partnership Scheme

Developing a small island in a sustainable way involves a massive effort embracing all sectors and disciplines. One could hardly implement it successfully without a comprehensive partnership with partners.

  1. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

This could be effective in addressing the issues directly hitting the society, the inhabitants of remote islands, which are hardly to be quantified in a short economic term. This is not attractive for commercial activities either.

The people face huge challenges, a.o. education. School children lack qualified books and learning materials. An approach from the open source community provides solutions to enhance the education quality. As it lacks electricity, usage of desktop computers consumes a certain amount of electricity which is already limited. Therefore introducing the usage of tablet containing e-books and educational programs are viewed as a promising solutions. We welcome contribution of the industry to support this effort.

  2. Pioneering and Empowerment

The economic power of a small island is very low. Investing exactly in essential points could enhance the dynamics of life and economic activities.

Lack of electricity is obvious. Fuel price is unaffordable, if not scarce. The strategy goes in two directions: consumption and production. First, consuming energy saving lights and electric appliances. Secondly, producing electricity using well-managed solar power generation, just to name an example. The availability of energy will trigger economic activities, and other sectors including education and health.

  3. Research

We presume that a remote island can be projected into a certain direction or a long term vision. This vision should consider the culture, local wisdom, biodiversity, education, health, strategic position of the island etc.

Preceding past experiences taught us, that developing a small, remote, economically-weak island is as complex as developing any bigger town. This act needs literally a huge analytical thinking, in order not to be trapped by triviality. A multi-disciplinary research is necessary, in order to provide a convincing solutions and plans.

We welcome a partnership with the industry, governmental and non-governmental organizations, locally and internationally in order to achieve the vision: a wealthy, healthy and sustainable island. For more info, please contact us.
